Resident Evil 2- Design Test
This was a project where I was tasked to do a design test for a game of my choosing, the game that I chose was Resident Evil 2 Remake. My idea for the design test was to create an extra level to the main police station that you play within for the most of the beginning of the game, with this level of the floor came a new piece of equipment for the player to use, two new enemy types and one of them being a mini boss with a cutscene for the player to find as well as a whole new area for them to explore.
For the design test I made a level block out using Unreal Engine 5, and I made use of colour and shapes to identify what were items, what items they were and who enemies were. All objects were modelled in Unreal using the simple shapes. Beforehand I did a bit of preparation by creating a top-down level design so when it came to creating the block out I had what to base it on. To go with the block out I also created a key for people to be able to understand what it is they are looking at.
